Wonderful times
Tempi meravigliosi
Veronica and I first went to the Borgo in 1996 and have spent our summer holidays there ever since. If I close my eyes and think about the Borgo I'm overwhelmed by a thousand images of the wonderful times we've spent there.
The first glimpse you get of the Borgo is towards the end of the drive up the narrow bumpy track from the main Arezzo to Cortona road. To see it each year is like the first glimpse of the sea I got as a child on the way to family holidays on the Yorkshire coast.
When we get to the Borgo and look down over the Val di Chiana we still marvel at the view. The rich farmland and drainage channels, the Colline di Sienna and Monte Amiata and Montepulciano in the distance never lose their impact on us
