Like many English people we love beautiful gardens. One of the best we've enjoyed in Tuscany is La Foce, not far from Montepulciano. It can be visited on Wednesday afternoons

In the early 20th century, the English writer, Iris Origo, and her husband, Antonio, bought the Renaissance property with a spectacular view towards the Val d'Orcia. They engaged the architect, Cecil Pinsent, to enlarge the house and farm and plan the garden

                         On a hill opposite, they also laid out an iconic road of cypress trees
